I highly recommend reading this book. Mary Pat is my niece, so of course, I could not wait to read it. Her autobiography would appeal to so many. She grew up in poverty in the 1950's and from there moved on to tragedy and abuse. But, she always knew that someone was with her and that this same person was watching out for her. This book is filled with such historical detail of Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Written in story form, it reads like a grown up version of the "American Girl Series." It's not just a doom and gloom book. It's filled with happy times and a lot of hope. You will get attached to her and her siblings and have a hard time waiting to find out how things ended up for them, which Mary Pat does cover in one of the final chapters. I think it would make an awesome movie, too.Product details

Good book
I could not put this book down! To me its a reminder that its possible to overcome an abusive childhood, a terminal illness, and any spiritual battle we may face through prayer and faith in God ❤️
This book shows her love and devotion to her faith and family. It shows how strong of a person she was and is after all she went through as a child. She never gave up. Truly inspirational. A must read. She is an amazing woman.

When I read the first sentence, I started to cry because the author's heart came through the printed words and touched my heart. I loved the book and didn't want it to end. I definitely will reread it!
This is obviously a book that had to be written. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. The courage it must have taken to pen the details of her horrific childhood are really insprational. She never gave up on herself, hope, or her faith. She has been brave beyond all odds. Mary Pat is a strong woman with an even stronger belief in the Higher Power. The story of her daughter's illness and Mary Pat's dedication to her faith is inspiring. Thank you for writing this.
